Students 'Fairing' Well at the Science Fair

Saint Dominic's School ninth graders Thomas Murray and Evan Korn show off their demonstration of the effects of bad "fatty foods" on the heart's arteries during the school's Annual Science/Social Studies Fair on Dec. 3. They used a funnel and a clear plastic tube and poured red colored liquid into the tube showing how it does not flow when partially blocked by plaque caused by fats and bad cholesterol. They encouraged people to eat healthy foods and watch theirĀ  consumption of high fat foods and junk food.

Saint Dominic's School third grader Nathaniel Leblanc proudly shows off his structure made of plastic gears at the school's Annual Science/Social Studies Fair on Dec. 3. He explained how each gear works together to make the entire structure operate as one unit.

Saint Dominic's School third graders Nathaniel Leblanc and Harold Pena put the final touches on a gear-based structure as part of the school's Annual Science/Social Studies Fair on Dec. 3. Each of the school's 10 class had an exhibit on topics ranging from Native Americans, planets, water cycles to state reports and product comparison. All students participated either in group efforts or individually.
