Large crowd of friends of Saint Dominic’s Home, Board members, staff, consumers and family members gathered under a perfect October sky for the special ceremony to officially dedicate and bless the Gail and Richard Addeo Residence located in Garnerville, N.Y.

Saint Dominic’s Home manages 24 hours a day the community residence that is home to 14 men and women with chronic mental illness.

Gina Addeo, who is president of G.M.A. Electrical Corp., a long-time donor to the Friends of Saint Dominic’s and a Board member of Friends since 1999, chose to have the residence named after her parents as a tribute to them rather than naming it after herself for her contributions to Saint Dominic’s Home.

Gina told the guests, “My parents Gail and Richard Addeo were very generous people who often gave their time and money to help those that were less fortunate. Although my parents died at an early age, their memory will live on through The Gail and Richard Addeo Residence for many years to come.”

Saint Dominic’s Home Executive Director Judy Kydon welcomed the guests and expressed her heart-felt thanks to Gina and the Addeo family for their generosity over the years.

“Gina’s parents would be extremely proud to know their daughter is following in their footsteps of philanthropy. We are honored to have what was previously called the ‘Bridge Street House’ now and forever called the Gail and Richard Addeo Residence.”

Sister Joan Clark, Pastoral Care Coordinator for Saint Dominic’s Home, led the blessing and Lonnie Stafford, Administrative Supervisor of Saint Dominic’s Home Mental Health Programs, supervised the official dedication; a reception for the guests followed on the property. The Gail and Richard Addeo Residence is managed by Patrick Reynolds and is one of four programs operated by Saint Dominic’s Home and certified by the New York State Office of Mental Health.
