More than 1,000 Attend Business & Labor Awards Dinner and Top leaders and executives of businesses and labor/trade construction organizations collectively raised $965,000 at the 30th Annual Friends of St. Dominic’s Business & Labor Awards Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria on January 25. The 1,050 guests were there to lend support to help the 133-year-old nonprofit agency Saint Dominic’s Home. For their commitment to charitable giving and living by the principles of philanthropy as a way of life, Michael Chionchio, a senior vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle, received the prestigious Saint Dominic’s Home Victory Award and Robert Bonanza, business manager of the Mason Tenders District Council of Greater New York and Long Island, received the prestigious Francis J. P. McHale Memorial Award. Fox 5's "Good Day New York" co-host Rosanna Scotto served as the dinner's mistress of ceremonies and introduced the two award honorees. Sr. Joseph Mary Mahoney, O.P., president of Friends of St. Dominic's, thanked the room full of supporters and expressed the nonprofit organization’s gratitude for their continued generous support of Saint Dominic's Home in such tough economic times.
