1,095 of New York's Business & Labor Community Top leaders and executives of businesses and labor/trade construction organizations collectively raised $935,913 at the 29th Annual Friends of Saint Dominic’s Business & Labor Awards Dinner held at the Waldorf=Astoria on January 26. The 1,095 guests were there to lend support to Saint Dominic's Home.
Michael V. Belluzzi, president and business manager of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association Local Union No. 28, and Thomas R. Nelson, Senior Managing Director of CB Richard Ellis in the Northeast Region, were recipients of the Francis J.P. McHale Memorial Award and the Victory Award, respectively. These prestigious awards are given annually to professionals in the business and labor/trade construction sectors that have a record of commitment to philanthropy and are dedicated to helping Saint Dominic's Home carry out its mission. Fox 5's "Good Day New York" co-host Rosanna Scotto served as the dinner's mistress of ceremonies and introduced the Saint Dominic's Home video "Did You Know?" which contained a compilation of facts, figures and photos, and she introduced all guest speakers. Sr. Joseph Mary Mahoney, O.P., President of Friends of Saint Dominic's, thanked the room full of supporters and expressed the organization's gratitude for their continued generous support of Saint Dominic's Home in such difficult economic times.
