Our Heritage and Our History

Saint Dominic’s Home is a nonprofit Catholic agency founded in 1878 by the Blauvelt Dominican Sisters as a home for immigrant children abandoned on the streets of New York City.

Saint Dominic’s Home continues the mission of its founder Mother Mary Ann Sammon to compassionately care for those most in need and better their lives.

Every day, professional care and compassion is provided to a diverse population of  about 2,000 children, adolescents, adults and families in need throughout the Bronx and the lower Hudson Valley, regardless of race, religion or ethnicity.
