Our Heritage

Saint Dominic’s Home is a leader in community based and residential services with the goal of helping people in need to reach their potential through compassionate professional care and quality services fostered by a family-focused culture and environment.

Saint Dominic’s Home is a Catholic agency founded in 1878 by the Blauvelt Dominican Sisters as a home for immigrant children abandoned on the streets of New York City.

Saint Dominic’s Home continues the mission of its founder Mother Mary Ann Sammon to compassionately care for those most in need and better their lives.

Every day, professional care and compassion is provided to a diverse population of more than 2,300 children, adolescents, adults and families in need throughout the Bronx and the lower Hudson Valley, regardless of race, religion or ethnicity.
