Mission

St. Dominic's Therapeutic Preschool is a program of Saint Dominic’s Home. The mission of St. Dominic's Therapeutic Preschool is to provide a supportive and caring environment to preschool children with special needs. Through love, praise and encouragement, St. Dominic's Therapeutic Preschool gives children the confidence they need to learn and gives parents the hope that their children will reach their fullest potential.

Philosophy

We are committed to the development of a community of learners among the staff.

• We are committed to support, respect, love and care for, develop and teach the children entrusted to our care and to put their needs first.

• We believe in the uniqueness and goodness of each individual child who may develop and learn at times and in ways different from other children.

• We respect the families, the cultures, the languages and the traditions of the children in our school and we rejoice in their diversity.

• We believe that play is the work of children and we support child-initiated activities and all activities that are developmentally appropriate and give children a sense of their own self worth.

• We encourage children to try new activities and we believe that children benefit from teacher-planned projects and experiences.
